Leasing Process
1. Qualification Process
- Rental Application – required of each tenant
- A copy of photo ID – email it to inquiry@prestigeprop.com
- Application Validation – may take up to 24 hours
2. Financial Leasing Requirements
- Security Deposit – equal to one month’s rent, pay at the time of signing the lease
- First month’s rent – paid by August 1
3. Tenant Signature on Required Forms
- Lease – 1 signature and 7 initials required of each tenant
- Parking Lease if required
- Lead-Based Paint Disclosure – 1 signature and 2 initials required of each tenant
- City of Iowa City Information Disclosure
- Copy of City of Iowa City Information Disclosure in Chinese
- Co-Sign Form
4. Documents Provided to Tenant at Signing
- Copy of Lease
- Copy of Lead-based Paint Disclosure Form
- E-Pamphlet of Lead-based Paint Information
- Copy of City of Iowa City Information Disclosure
- Copy of Parking Lease and Parking Rules if applicable
5. Move In Instructions
- Read Welcome Letter and Recycling Program
- Read Move In Instruction Flyer
- Read Welcome Folder
- Check in – August 1st, between 12:00pm – 5:00pm (unless otherwise specified) at 401 S. Gilbert Street, Iowa City, IA 52240
- Pick up keys and sign the Key Form
- Fill out in your Tenant Web Access (TWA) Check In Inspection Form – to be completed in 3 days
- Parking sticker if applicable
- Mailbox name label
- Renewal notice
6. Move Out Instructions
- Read Move Out letter
- Read Move Out Instruction Flyer
- Check out – July 22th or 24th, by 12:00pm (please refer to the lease)
- Leave forwarding address of security holder ONLY
- Return keys and sign
- Cleaning and Damage Inspection Checklist completed by Prestige Properties
7. Security Deposit Return (mailed within 30 days of lease end)
